To Be Born a Colored Girl
To Be Born, a Colored Girl is a contemporary and jazz-fused work that highlights the struggles and experiences of women of color. Drawing inspiration and experiences from the choreographer and dancers, this work details the journey to finding love and acceptance of one’s identity, despite the adversities faced because of said identity.
LIfeline
Lifeline explores the search for genuine human connection within hustle-and-grind culture. In environments where productivity and individual achievement often take precedence, the work asks: how can we build meaningful relationships while navigating the demands of constant motion and ambition? This concept is conveyed through movement that draws from both contemporary and jazz dance techniques.
