Community & Educational Outreach
Our outreach through education and community programs is an integral part of our identity. We believe in bringing dance directly to the community through community classes, performances, and workshops.
Here are our current programs:
Modern Dance Workshops
Catered to dance programs that don’t offer modern dance in their curriculum. Whether it be dance studios, school programs, collegiate dance teams, etc. The Modern Dance Workshop series is meant to introduce dancers to a style of dance that they will encounter not only in collegiate dance programs and many professional dance jobs, but also heavily influence the dance styles they are currently training in.
-
Workshop length: 3 days (open to discussing longer length and duration of each workshop day)
-
30-minute lecture on the history and formation of Modern Dance and its connection to Contemporary, Ballet, and even styles like Hip-Hop and traditional African dance styles
-
Modern Dance Technique class + Improv and Contact Improv + student choreography opportunity
-
Personalized curriculum based on age group, skill level, and program needs
-
Informal performance from Mosaic Movement Collective on the last day of workshop
Community Classes
Our community classes (free and/or donation-based) are fun, stress-free dance classes for everyone to enjoy! Whether you are an experienced dancer or an absolute beginner, these classes are meant to bridge the gap in our community and get everyone moving! Whether you need a short, 30-minute dance segment for your event or an hour-long class, we are happy to assist!
